Day to day life on the expedition cruise in Antarctica

In contrast to our very first landing, all of the others would have gorgeous sunny weather with very little wind.

On day 2  we were in the first group and it was sunny and warm and no rain. Just perfect!!  Remember that the ship rotates the groups so that everyone gets a chance to go first or last. If the weather ever turned bad enough to cancel the last few groups – then they would be first to go the next day. It meant that the ship was always bustling with activity as people were coming and going to shore, and there was always a spot to sit up top in the lounge to watch it all.

We loved the landing and couldn’t believe the difference between the two days. I may go kayaking in the morning, but it is all weather dependant. As we are back on the ship later that day a beautiful light snow starts to fall. That could throw a wrench into the Kayaking plans. The scenery all around the ship is just breathtaking. When we have a meal we find a window seat and just stare out at the view.  So much of this trip is beyond our wildest dreams and I love being able to share it with other people.
